vinegar treat toenail fungusWill vinegar treat toenail fungus? I ask this question when I heard about vinegar treatment for toenail fungus. I search the answer on internet and found that it is both yes and no. Will vinegar cure toenail fungus effectively?

There are many options to cure toenail fungus, such as natural remedies and home remedies. Among the many home remedies, vinegar is one of the most trusted solution that can help to get rid of toenail fungus. Whether white vinegar or apple cider vinegar, this is the cheapest treatment intended to cure fungal infections from toenails or fingernails and to prevent its spreading in a very effective way.

The acidic solutions in vinegar is what help curing toenail fungus. There are many types of fungi that cause the toenail fungus infection and for some reason, some are immune to the effects that acetic acid has on others. So, vinegar is much more effective against fungi which are not immune to the acidic properties in vinegar.

The real problem is that toenails are designed to keep liquids out just like your skin.  Unfortunately, water based solutions, such as vinegar, seldom penetrate the toenail and get to the root of the fungus inside the toenail bed.

But, vinegar also has hydrogen peroxide which can kill bacteria and fungi. Hydrogen peroxide and acidic solutions in vinegar are necessary to kill fungi, the microorganism responsible for toenail fungus infection.

Vinegar treatment will have some success in treating toenail fungus. But to answer the question, will vinegar treat toenail fungus, it is not easy to say yes.

To treat toenail fungus with vinegar, soak your feet 20-30 minutes daily in a foot bath with one part vinegar and two parts warm water. You can use an applicator, such as cotton swab, to polish vinegar onto the toenail.

I’m currently trying to cure my fungus with Apple/Vinegar with honey. I’m tracking my progress so I’ll see how it goes. You apply twice a day for 3 months. I’m 3 weeks into it, so time will tell

    hey,

i have had an accident where my toenail ripped half off doctors had to remove it and then i ended up with no nail … decided as it turned summer that i will have acrylic glued on beatuiful but didn’t realise what i have done. Had a really bad case of the fungus disguasting smell and looks … so decided to try the apple cider vinegar. I didn’t take pictures as I didn’t want to even remember how they looked but could find links on the net for reference. So in the first 3 weeks I soaked my toe intesivley in the vinegar at firts did a 50 – 50 solution with water but then started to just do it in a little cup vinegar dip … and I could cut off all the nastiness from my toenail. It was all inbedded but I cut it all out didn’t mind the pain the goal was to get rid off all the yellow thick nail. It worked. This was in march now its June and my toenail looks pink only it started growing fully from the nail bed. I still file and cut the old nail (whatever is left from it) but I can say it doesn’t look 100 per cent yet but it is a very good progress so far. I now only have a cotton wool soaked in acv every other day and leave it on for a good couple of minutes. and every day after shower i dry my toe and then give it a wipe with the vinegar. I keep believeing that this is it now. Finally getting nice toe nails :) ps my other toe nail big foot started to turn wavy but the vinegar sorted that out of course i had to cut off the infected nail but by now it looks healthy and smooth.
